Delphi, Turbo Delphi. Turbo Series…

News after news about the fate of Delphi and other developers’ tools of Borland in general, and confusions about developers’ faith, Borland announced, as promissed, the press release on August 8, 2006. Bring back the “Turbo” series developers’ tools.
I remember TurboBasic was my favorite because I did not like TurboPascal 3 IDE which forced me to use BASIC, but then I found my self in TurboPascal 4 until now in Delphi…

Turbo has new address with simple and quick website, just as the old days, dominated with light-brown/golden color, just see yourself here.
There are two versions: Professional and Explorer.
Explorer is the free version, as we know now there are many free and/or open source compiler, and even Microsoft now has Express series.
Borland promises this Explorer edition is different with Express edition, although with some limitations but seems quite good for developing usable programs, but unsure yet with the licenses.

But, after reading press release, news, and around TurboExplorer homepage, I did not find any information (yet) about Java (JBuilder or TurboJava maybe ?) and lastly: no nothing about Linux (Turbo Kylix, again, maybe ? or TurboDelphi .NET works in Linux with Mono ?)
Just let’s see…

And oh ! Turboman is kicking again !
