• To be launched from Windows Scheduler,
  using simple command-line, please note that the command line are case-sensitive and prefixed by a single-dash:
  • -monitorOFF
    to send computer screen to Power Saving mode
    eg. PowerSaving2 -monitorOFF
  • -monitorON
    to activate the screen, we can move mouse or press a key, but we can also do it programmatically for example in unattended public display
    eg. PowerSaving2 -monitorON
• No install/uninstallation, very small single executable file

FB Employee Spent (FBESpent) is a simple application used to track/record benefit usage by entitled employees, from which can be produced the needed report.

Features

• Simple, small, no installation just extract the zip, database using SQLite
• Clean designed and easy to use (screen shot below)
• Report template can be customized, added (as long as the needed already in database)

Installation

• Download the file from Download part below, save “FBEmp2.zip” to your download folder
• Do backup your existing copy of FBEmp2, or just proceed if you are a new user
• For new installation, extract FBEmp2.zip to any folder that you wish, then create shortcut to “FBEmp2.exe”, remember that all files should be in the same folder.
• For updating existing installation, extract file to FBEmp2.zip to temporary folder, then copy only FBEmp2.exe to your existing FB folder, if you accidentally replace your database “FBESpent.s3db”, then your data will be gone forever !
  That’s why it’s a good practice to have backup, and do a backup just before installation

Usage

• There are two users in default blank database:
  1. User / Password: OPR/OPR
  2. User / Password: ADMIN / ADMIN
• After login, you have to fill/input datas in table, as below:
  1. Input data in tables “Transaction Type”, “Employee Class”, “Outlet”, “Department”
     because table Employees and Transactions depend on those table
  2. Input employees in “Employees Maintenance”
  3. You are ready to track employees benefit usage, input datas in Transaction
  4. Do report from module Report, included are two report templates
  5. Done, repeat as needed
• It’s a good practice to backup your data, close FBESpent application then copy file “FBESpent.s3db” into a safe place; and do this at least weekly, but the best is at end of day

I need to log the freespace status of installed hard drives in some computers, just a simple one that show the size, used spaces, free spaces, with the percentage of each installed hard drives. As those computers are Windows so I could not use “df” (though one of those with Oracle has df (with cygwin)).
I tried to find the one that suite me, but could not find it: either too sophisticated (and big !) or not as I needed; and most of them need to be installed.
And I decided to create my version of ‘df’, for now only show fixed drives size.

My first try using FreeBASIC, it produces small and fast executable…

Countdown New Year 2009

Days go fast, and now year 2009 is drawing near, only days.
And my friends asked me to find something like clock timer that counting down for New Year 2009, in a way that it can be projected to the wall.

I searched internet for somedays, in my spare time, finding such clock time without success; there are many countdown to New Year 2009, but to be embeded in web, or standalone application that so small can not full screen.

Then I remember the GameMaker that once I tried, it seems easier to create this clock timer countdown using GameMaker, thus I visit Game Maker site and forum, and started to create the Countdown Year 2009, it is simple but I think is OK, and now ready to download

All texts are hardcoded, but if you need different texts, contact me and I’ll change the wording.

I uploaded a little program utility that I use daily to backup a folder to a zip with datetime in the zip filename (eg. salesrep-070118-1230.zip) and upload that zip to ftp server in a directory depend on the year/month (eg. back0701 folder).
